Deer Butchering & Processing Workshop at Watauga Extension October 6, 2018

The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Watauga County will offer a deer butchering and processing workshop on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Extension Agents Eddy Labus and Margie Mansure will explore ways to process and preserve your hunting-season bounty. Demonstrations include sausage making, canning venison, jerky making, and cutting up a deer. The cost of the workshop is $15 (or $25 per couple) and must be paid in advance at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Watauga County Center, 971 West King St., Boone. Payment can be made in cash or check made payable to Watauga CES. There will be a limit of 15 participants, so make sure to sign up early. The workshop will be held at the Watauga Agricultural Conference Center, located at 252 Poplar Grove Road in Boone.
