Collapse ▲Don’t let winter blahs dampen your enthusiasm for sustainable homesteading and regenerative agriculture! On Wednesday, December 5, and Wednesday, December 12, 2018, N.C. Cooperative Extension of Watauga County will present two free showings of selections from the “Permaculture Skills” video series. Free organic popcorn and toppings will be served along with the films, so we’re calling this series “Poppin’ Permaculture!” This will be a great chance to avoid premature winter hibernation, and instead, come out for a warm evening of sharing ideas and vision with sister and fellow Permies here in the High Country.
The films will be shown at the Watauga County Agricultural Conference Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening. Several short segments from the Permaculture Skills series will be shown, along with chances for discussion of the film topics and networking.
The Permaculture Skills video series is an educational documentary series offering an opportunity to join students as they learn to become permaculture designers and practitioners during an applied Permaculture Design Course hosted by Whole Systems Design LLC. Condensing the contents of two separate 10-day courses, the Permaculture Skills film series is an invitation to share in the experience and learn from a combination of academic teaching, practical field work and hands-on workshops. It features some of the brightest young Permaculture practitioners (Ben Falk, Erik Schellenberg, etc.) working in a climate similar to the NC High Country.
Please pre-register (so that we have plenty of popcorn & goodies…) by e-mailing rjboylan@ncsu.edu and also please help to spread the word!
