  • No federal or state certification programs exist for companies or individuals providing mold remediation services.
  • Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC): The IICRC has developed standards and guidelines for inspection, cleaning and remediation of mold in homes. It also certifies mold inspectors and is the most widely accepted industry certification today. It’s BSR-IICRC S520  standards are used as reference for professional mold remediation procedures.
  • Locating a IICRC certified mold professional: This has been made very simple by the zip code search engine provided by IICRC. To locate a professional in your area you can click here.
  • National Association of Mold Professionals (NAMP) is a non-profit organization, which also provides training and certification for people interested in becoming Mold professionals (inspectors and remediators).
  • Searchable Directory of NAMP certified mold professionals: NAMP provides this directory which can be searched first on state basis and then county basis, for certified mold inspectors and remediators.
