N.C. Cooperative Extension in Watauga County is hosting this class designed for egg producers with small flocks who sell eggs on a regular basis to consumers. We'll cover safe handling practices, interior, and exterior egg quality, as well as laws and regs surrounding egg grading and sales here in North Carolina.
There will be hands-on applications of techniques presented so that participants can gain practical knowledge of how to grade eggs for sale in North Carolina. If you are a producer who sells more than 30 dozen eggs per week, are interested in expanding beyond this threshold, or are wanting to learn more about egg grading, this class is for you!
Lauren Greene, Area Poultry Specialized Agent, and Eddy Labus, Watauga County Livestock Agent, will present. There is no fee for the class, but prior registration is required to ensure accurate headcount for lunch. Space is limited and COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.
