- Soil Sample forms and boxes are available in the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Watauga County Center lobby, however you must mail or deliver the samples to the NCDA Lab in Raleigh.
- This soil test covers routine nutrients but does not test for contaminants.
- There is currently a 10 week wait to receive your results.
- If you are wanting your soil tested for contaminants such as Heavy Metals you will have to submit to a private lab which typically will cost $150 and up. A list of certified laboratories can be found on the NC Department of Environmental Quality’s website. Note that not all of these labs will be able to perform every analysis. Consult the laboratory’s website and call prior to submitting a sample.
